  1. This is an evaluation version of RAYTRACE.
  2.  
  3. Raytrace is a program written specifically for the purposes of
  4. teaching and exploring geometrical optics. It allows the user to:
  5.    * trace rays through arbitrary 2D optical systems
  6.    * animate and drag the diagrams with the mouse
  7.    * demonstrate dispersion with different coloured rays
  8.    * demonstrate all the ray diagrams you need in a
  9.      course on geometrical optics.
  10.  
  11. A review of the program is due out in "Computers in Physics"
  12. in Sept/Oct 1995.
  13.  
  14. A quick tour of many of the features is available when the
  15. program is run.
  16.  
  17. The evaluation copy of Raytrace is freeware - you may copy and
  18. distribute it as you please. There are several features of the
  19. program that have been disabled in the evaluation version and
  20. if you decide to make use of the program then you should
  21. purchase a licenced copy of Raytrace from:

  29. Currently prices are AUS$95 for single user licences and
  30. AUS$250 for site licences. Prices include airmail post and

  38. 186p user's manual. Site licences include 3 copies of the
  39. user's manual.

  41. Raytrace requires a minimum of a 286 running Windows 3.1 or later.
  42. A math co-processor is recommended but not essential. A VGA in
  43. either 640x480 or 800x600 is recommended.
